My motivation comes from my origin. After having spent some years filming in other countries and making documentaries about other cultures, one day I felt the call of my own roots. And I feel responsible to dedicate my time and experience into making a film about my culture and the troubles it is now facing. Originally from Jaén and now living in London, I am the the only documentary filmmaker in the province. All the memories of my childhood have taken place around olive trees and the land. I feel very passionate about this cultural background and heritage. And I feel responsible to portray the changes that are now happening so fast around this activity. I want to share this passion with the audience and also, in a way, promote my culture and the customs and conflicts surrounding the olive oil. I hope viewers will then understand how hard yet life affirming this existence is.


Mi motivación viene de mis orígenes . Después de haber pasado algunos años grabando en otros países y la realizando documentales sobre otras culturas, un día sentí la llamada de mis propias raíces. Me sentí responsable de dedicar mi tiempo y experiencia en hacer una película sobre mi cultura y los problemas que afronta. Nacida en Jaén pero viviendo en Londres, soy la única directora de documentales en la provincia. Todos los recuerdos de mi infancia han tenido lugar alrededor de olivos. Siento pasión por mi cultura y su patrimonio y me siento responsable de retratar los cambios que ahora están sucediendo tan rápido en torno a esta actividad. Quiero compartir esta pasión con el público y también, en cierto modo, promover mi cultura y sus costumbres y los conflictos que rodean el mundo del aceite de oliva. Espero que los espectadores puedan entonces entender lo difícil de esta existencia.
